"Tunak Tunak Tun" (Punjabi: ਤੁਨਕ ਤੁਨਕ ਤੁਨ) or "Tunak", is a bhangra/pop love song by Indian artist Daler Mehndi released in 1998. At the time, critics complained that Mehndi's music was only popular due to his videos that featured beautiful women dancing.[1] Mehndi's response was to create a video that featured only himself. The song was a success, with the unexpected benefit of becoming a cult hit in other countries. The song has also become an internet meme, inspiring numerous online parodies. As of December 2011, the video has been viewed over 26 million times on YouTube.

The music video was the first made in India using bluescreen technology,[1] which allowed the singer to superimpose his image over various computer-generated backgrounds, one featuring St. Basil's Cathedral in Moscow.

The video game World of Warcraft features fictional races within the game that have signature dances. The dance employed by the male Draenei has been inspired by the "Tunak Tunak Tun" music video.[2][3]
